My review of the new 4k remaster of Crimson Peak release from Arrow Video.
Crimson Peak is a gothic romance film directed by Guillermo del Toro. The story follows Edith Cushing, an aspiring author in late 19th-century America, who falls for the mysterious and charming Sir Thomas Sharpe. After a family tragedy, she marries Thomas and moves to his remote ancestral home in England, Allerdale Hall, a decaying mansion atop a red clay mine that bleeds into the snow, earning it the name "Crimson Peak."
As Edith settles into her new life, she begins to experience terrifying supernatural visions and uncover dark secrets about the Sharpe family, particularly concerning Thomas’s enigmatic sister, Lady Lucille. The mansion itself harbors gruesome and tragic memories, and Edith must unravel the mystery of Crimson Peak to survive its horrors and escape its malevolent grip.
