I think the Families are based off of crips because like real life LA crips Families outnumber the Ballas and control most of the Westside, Green and Red look good for only ONE season and you can see Ballas wearing hats with Bs and Ps while the Families can be seen wearing Cs, also the grove street of the HD universe is based off of some Blood street. Also the families hand sign is just the Compton Crip handsign flipped upside down. And Families call each other Loc. One time my friend was shooting at Ballas and heard one say “DISTRACT HIM BLOOD”
