teacher moving into the long grass at the enemy side without using a dash move was low-key genius. If Sylveon is hiding there, Hyper Voice has no range, if Sylveon is hiding in the other 2 grass areas, Leafeon can side-step the wide range with Aerial Ace or just dash in close. If Sylveon is on the other side, Leafeon can dash to either goal (his for defense and to stop a score; the opponent's goal to score then get quick scores with all the aeos energy lying around). No idea if teacher was actually thinking like this.

While Azu is a monstrous duelist, talon definitely could've played it much better. Talon has better secure so he could've played for cs/xp first instead of stacks, later on hit and run and trades would be best cause he doesn't win against drawn out fights, if he picked aerial ace he could've tried bursting since Aerial > Auto > Fly(wait for Aerial to be almost off cd) > Auto > Aerial > Auto is usually enough to dispatch most non tanks, still would've been a hard fight since Azu is just good at 1v1s . As for the leafeon VS Sylv, going HVoice was a mistake since leaf could easily dash away or side step HV, MFire + DK is loads better for 1v1s due to mobility and sustain. Overall a fun and refreshing vid, reminds me of when my friends and I used to just do 1v1s on LoL. Would be fun to see again once in a while.

Danjeed here. Pretty bad picks from me tbh. I've never played 1v1s before so idk what the meta is and it was an on the spot thing so no real time to prepare. It was the same for teacher though tbf. If we both had time we'd probably play goal getters and score shields lol. GGs to teacher though, he got the best of me here, but I'll still farm him every time I see him on the ladder, like I normally do 🤣 I still maintain that I'm a better player than him, at least in 5v5s lol. Maybe mirror matches only would be a better way to do this going forward. Or if there's enough Danjeed and teacher haters in the chat one day, we could do a 5v5 🤣 Either way, thanks for organising it Cris, it was a good laugh. @@world.prince fair enough. 1v1 is completely different and doesn't necessarily translate well to 5v5s imo, which is how most of us play the game most of the time. So idk how good a measure this type of match is for seeing who's a better player anyway. Maybe they'll add a 1v1 mode one day, or Cris can keep doing this on his channel and we'll see more of a meta develop.

The fact that he picked talon and sylveon considering the circumstances of this 1v1 are proof of not really having a gameplan. Talon and incredibly frail paired with the fact that it doesn’t reach its final form till level 7 and relies heavily on its moves to weave in and out of battle was a bad pick, and while sylveon evolves quicker everything immediately derailed the moment it picked hyper voice as it was trivially easy for leafeon to just move around it and steal points from it.
