That's actually not Steve Burton screaming. If I recall, they got James Arnold Taylor (Titus's voice actor) to do that scream. I could very much be creating a false memory, but it does sound like him. I just can't remember where I read/heard the info from.

Make Rick Gomez aka Zack Fair return on one condition: Bring him back, bring ALL original FF7 voice cast back as an additional DLC legacy patch for the #CrisisCoreReunion #CrisisCorePSPVoices
@R0B5e55or0012 жыл бұрын
It'll be worth buying the game as soon as an additional DLC legacy patch is considered for the game. Now if only they can do the same for the FF7R.

I have an idea. Considering Square Enix ignores our wish to hear some of the old voices, why don’t we organize a donation and ask people like George Newbern to dub Sephiroth’s lines in the remake? Just as a fan project. Then we can just put them into the game or create a video with all the remake cutscenes with George’s voice. That way we can have our favorite old voices and keep the new ones we like.
@lycoidkris96792 жыл бұрын
As much as I would absolutely love this idea and would do anything for this to happen, (heck I'm willing to pay $100 or more for the DLC with the original english VAs for the remake) there is unfortunately some form of legal or contract obligations that is preventing the original VAs from partaking in this kind of fan project. A few months back, I tried to commission George Newbern on Cameo to read out the Lifestream: Black chapters (which were only 4 pages) from the On the way to a Smile FFVII book in his Sephiroth voice and told him I was willing to pay more than his standard commission fee as well, he couldn't read out the entirety purely because he didn't want to upset Square Enix. I imagined it would be the same for the other VAs, they don't want to destroy or further damage their working relationship with Square Enix just so they get the chance to continue voicing their characters again. (Even though Square Enix was the one who butchered it in the first place.....) It's a really frustrating position to be in, they obviously really want to continue voicing their characters and have gone in record to talk about how upset they were with Square Enix treatment of them (George Newbern especially,) but can't really do anything about it because of said working relationship. When I see recast like this and whenever fans ask the VAs what they can do to help, It always seems to boil to one thing; tell the people/company responsible for the decision that you would like to see them come back to voicing their characters. It really is just up to us fans to fully voice to Square Enix our issues in terms on the recasting and to REALLY drill it into them on how much we want to see the original VAs to get back to playing their roles. Also, to Square Enix, Hey maybe If you guys didn't screw over the original english VAs like this, we wouldn't have to do something like this in the first place huh? The absolute audacity from you lot.

@@lycoidkris9679 unfortunately this is a "dub" of a Japanese game. More casual masses have no interest in this discussion and feel others are being mean. Like I'm not gonna lie and say the new stuff in remake was bad, but these line recreations, the seemingly ego fueled recasting, leaves us wondering why
@lycoidkris96792 жыл бұрын
@@PrincessNine Even if that is the case, I wouldn't be too quick to dismiss it just because its a "dub". While it's true that I have already seen rather ignorant people complaining about fans' criticism of the quality of voice acting without even any effort on their part to research as to why we feel so passionate about the whole matter(especially on Twitter...), the fact is that campaigns like this that are still going and the people who are still being fully vocal to Square Enix and spreading awareness to other people about the how the OG VAs got screwed over makes me believe that something can be done. I rather see people voice out as opposed to the people who purposely turn a blind eye to the situation just so they can have their mindless, souless, empty husk of entertainment without thinking about the consequences or the real-life people being screwed over because of shitty business practices. The voice actors being recasted for stuntcasting situations are also ENTIRELY reliant on us to tell Square Enix and the like about the matter as they can't really do anything about it even if they wanted to. I don't want to let them down. Also, leaving Square Enix to their devices and "moving on" gives them (and other companies as well, mind you) even more opportunities and freedom to screw over and replace other long-time established voice actors in other franchises just so they can market some famous TV celeb with no voice acting or qualifications to take over.
@PrincessNine2 жыл бұрын
@@lycoidkris9679 I wasn't dismissing it as a dub. I just notice less people really seem to way in on this topic when it's a Japanese video game. Metal Gear is the rarest of rare exceptions and that decision came from the series creator himself. You couldn't reverse that situation if you tried. You can literally say "Hey they didn't even call back Kairi" and the internet falls silent but you say Bender is gonna be recast and suddenly it's WW3. This extends over to anime as well. People just dilute the potential discussion with their brainless defenses like "I think it's good/better" as if that were the issue. Never was but now you got a flood of people thinking you're not giving the new guy a chance instead of saying "hrm, you're right....they shouldn't have recasted them" Doesn't help the fact the compilations voice acting is kinda buried in a myth where "ugh, they were so bad in those" I say all the time that square enix's voice direction hasn't moved an inch. It's just the scripts. Including FF7R but most people are merging the performances with the dialogue and are quicker to downplay the old stuff because Angeal was like "WHAT DO ANGELS DREAM OF". Doesn't help that when it comes to dubbed media people 🙄 are more inclined to recast because they're never happy with the dub actors. Funny how they prefer the cast when they're a replacement and their scripts sound dramatically different. People out here trying to convince me the evangelion redubs are better despite the scripts being worse. I'm just exhausted at seeing this consistently happen and being the guy like "yknow.....I said something day 1 everytime. No one tried to attempt to care the entire time. Everyone invented their justifications. Here's some food for thought. How about no? How about noooo?" The fact I tried to be nice and point out "Hey, maybe a toggle for this specific game. Please. Don't force people who played the original to essentially deal with your George Lucas special edition " no one? Okay. Oh what's that? Alot of people are cringing at the zacks line delivery? 😬 wowwww, that's crazy. Wonder who could've seen that coming. Edit: worst part. Worst Fkn part is. This was 100% a multiconsole release. Why does that matter? Because it's done. Over. Finished there's a lower chance they're putting in that much extra man power to add to a game with no major reported complaints. Usually we could bank off the fact the next port of the HD version was gonna have more bells and whistles because the extra dev time let them address issues they couldn't afford to do. Like how the Xbox version of ff12za is basically the best existing out the box version. It's still superior to the ps4/pc version despite them receiving patches because it has proper ingame clothes physics back on as intended and a real ng+ feature, not the half hearted one from the prior versions. That's just one of multiple examples. Square has less reasons to keep devs on this game because it's on everything. Who cares if they want their old actors right? If it was only on ps4 we could stir up enough of a fuss that the switch/xbox port would probably get it and it would be patched into ps4. But nope. That's my biggest issue, squares in next to no position to need to add the old audio as a toggle. I'd love to be wrong

@@PrincessNine Absolutely agree with you on everything there, though voice direction in some games can be a bit odd or inconsistent sometimes? Some instances in Kingdom Hearts series for example. (Though in that case, that is entirely on the director and not the actor.) I think one instance where fan backlash was strong enough that they manage to keep the original actors even when they were being replaced by english dubbed anime VAs was the Silent Hill HD Collection (though only for SH2 it seems) though I think It helps that there was no Japanese voice acting for those games as well. Overall, agree with you on everything there, especially on how irritating people can get when we're trying to talk about how they got recasted and these stuntcasting situations in general and these people shift the conversation to "It SOuNdEd BeTTeR AnYWay" like okay, disregarding your rather, awful opinion aside, throwing away an entire actors' history and experience of voicing that character just for some expensive famous knock-off actor with no proper qualifications to even keep up with the original VAs and alongside literally copying the original actor and being okay with the original VAs being tossed aside like garbage still doesn't change the fact that it's still a utterly scummy, dogshit thing to do to the actors who literally have been playing these roles for nearly 20 fucking years. Regarding the bit about Zack's line delivery, it's funny to see people being upset now, when they had like the remake which consisted of that god awful line delivery, 2 or 3 trailers for CCR that should be way more than enough to determine how much the quality drops in comparison to the original and yet people still went to go and buy the game and complain afterwards. Like....is that not the purpose of a game trailer? To show you the game? I find it laughable to see these so-called "fans" dismiss the dub of the compilation when speaking as someone who first full exposure to the english voices of the FF7 characters was through the Remake and even I could tell that something was off with the way they deliver their lines. When I then discover the OG Crisis Core and watched AC that was when I realised how big of a joke the quality of the voice acting of the remake actors was compared to the established original voice actors. Honestly makes me wonder if they even fully heard compilation voice actors and the idea behind for their voices and line delivery. (I'm pretty sure they didn't.) But yeah, it is indeed exhausting to see these people act so suprised when recasting happens and the shift in quality when we saw it happening from how long now. Twitter, especially with their disgusting hypocrisy, during the whole mess that was the Bayonetta incident back before the revelations, there were major well-known people who act like they care so much for the VAs and acted like they care for stuntcasting instances but when you point out the FFVII actors being recasted back then, these same fuckers were not giving a single fuck and dismissing over how the OG FFVII VAs got recasted. But again, I still want to believe as long as there are people who continue speaking out about it and not give in to these companies and their disgusting business practices, I'll continue to talk about it, exhausting as it is to see the same thing happen. Though, at the very least, when the people who defend stuntcasting sees it happen to their favorite franchise, now they know how we feel. Edit: Also just notice your edit, I think Square Enix actually did implemented a Russian voiceover option for FFXV a year later after its release? I wouldn't give up hope just yet. But, yeah, I can see the concern.

John DiMaggio aka Bender and Roger Craig Smith aka Sonic will not be brought back either, but that's just me.
