Crisis in college athletics: Suicides spike amid mental heath concerns

I had a friend who raised three daughters & the entire family lived, ate, & breathed college softball. It was all that their lives evolved around. I found to it be such a strange priority, especially when their parents had to work multiple jobs to keep up their daughters’ appearances & do all the traveling that the games require. Not to mention the constant drama.

That's one thing about college sports that's always bugged me like in our area they'll be a big signing day we're all the athletes sign with colleges. I think the part that you're going to get an education because in four years your athletic career is going to be over gets lost.

Stop pushing these kids so hard to become athletes. Give them other options. Because when they don't make it they become depressed and suicidal. Stop putting all your eggs in one basket.

How can you be sure? They said the spike has been since 2020. Some of the spikes started when kids weren't able to perform their Athletics because that's what they found their identity end and then when they couldn't do it for a while they fell apart. It's no secret that athletes are dying and suffering severe consequences from that shot.

@@sandeewichkoski1574 More like about 90% of these kids have insane parents...who pushed them to hard......not the shot Sandee. This has been happening for years.
