I have seen a couple of other crispy fried chicken videos , but haven’t tried them. Your recipe sounds yummier. One video suggested going to Whole Foods to use their wings because they use a process using less water. The chef’s recipe used both baking soda and powder. Can’t wait to try your recipe. Your daughter can’t be wrong. Children will let you know if they don’t like it because they are brutally honest. Thanks for sharing

Yes Maggie, the wings at Whole Foods is way more expensive. Even the 10% Amazon prime discount doesn’t help much. Of course our sales tax rate is 9.75%. Thank goodness for the Asian supermarkets when on a budget. We have 5 within a 5 mile radius near us. I get my Lee Kum Kee char siu sauce from whom ever has the best price, lol

if you want your foods to be healthy, just stop eating polyunsaturated seed oils like corn, cottonseed and canola, and use saturated fats instead. The thinking that fat and particularly saturated fats are unhealthy has been pretty thoroughly debunked at this point. Love the recipe, though I'll be shallow frying the wings in lard in my wok😊

Aw sorry to hear that! You probably didnt do anything wrong. The sauce just needs to be mixed immediately and quickly and tossed right away with the chicken wings. They do tend to clump though! I hope they tasted good at least!

2 things: Why are you cooking with rubber gloves on? and what's the point in air frying if you're coating them in butter anyway, it seems to be slightly pointless imho.

I didn't cook w/ gloves on, I wore them to handle chicken. Deep frying the chicken and coating in butter would be much unhealthier.
