To prepare syrup we need:
2 cups of water
2 cups of sugar
A quarter teaspoon of citric acid

The syrup must be heavy and cold while placing the awama in it so that the awama maintains its crunch
To prepare the awama we need
250 grams of all-purpose flour (equivalent to a cup and a half)
90 grams of boiled potatoes (the weight is taken after peeling and before boiling) is equivalent to a third of a standard cup
2 tablespoons of custard powder or cornstarch
A teaspoon of sugar
Three quarters of a teaspoon of yeast
A pinch of salt
A cup of warm water
Important notes
Please use standard cups and prepare the ingredients exactly as in the video to obtain the same result
Yeast is prepared with half a cup of warm water
Add the other half cup of water to the dough gradually
Prepare boiled potatoes and mash them through a strainer to get the best results
Awama is fried in two batches to obtain the desired crunch
Serve hot or cold as desired
