We discovered Cristela via Stand Up Revolution. (It's a bit of a toss-up between Cristela, Fluffy, and Jeff Dunham for our favorite currently touring comic.) We watched the entire run of Cristela, but we knew it was probably doomed because the networks frequently pass over the truly good shows. It's criminal that they never promoted it properly.

What Cristela says is reminiscent of the late great Eddie Guerrero who was asked in a wrestling interview once how he ALSO feels about Mexican-American stereotypes and when ppl say he is a stereotype but he says he’s NOT trying to fit a stereotype: he’s just being HIMSELF and you don’t have to like it if you don’t. She's just getting started. Her humble beginnings are "home" to many even though not foreigners or illegals. Poverty and it's useful lessons are universal. Puts us way ahead in "the game" because we came from nothing and we can better handle the rough times in life.

I loved watching cristela, I’m not a traditional tv watcher I either watch days later online on my phone or computer and that’s what networks don’t understand also love the current version of the view yes it’s sometimes hard with the loud opinions but I think more diversity in that setting is needed especially progressive voices.

I'm part Spanish and I use to wear colored eye contacts, and a girl that became a good friend, I asked her why she didn't wear colored contacts, and she told me it was because she felt like she was fronting and she believed that you could always see the truth in people's eyes, so what did it say about her if her eye color were not real. She felt in taking them off, she was taking off a mask of some sort and she felt fake. She didn't like the feeling of not being real in every way. I thought she made a good point and I never wore mine again.

Loved the show "Cristela"!!! Poignant and we'll created. It hit the best and worst of real life and made many diverse ethnicties look inside themselves, take pause and take check of what brought their life to fruition; review from what their life in "the now" is so related to "the past"...take pride in how one managed to have success that was never benchmarked with financial wealth, but benchmarked with the wealth of being a human with dignity. I work at McDevil’s and a LOT of my coworkers never learned English. I think they’re scared to assimilate more. I’m the ONLY non-Hispanic person in the store that uses Spanish (white guy!!) and that seems really weird 😂 I know some ppl will be mad at me for trying to interact with my coworkers without pushing them to use more English but we all have our fears to overcome (I’m a bit of a social recluse myself).

Well, she certainly looks different than who she was growing up, and though change is good, I hope she doesn't get away from who she is, to try to portray "Success" for herself. I hope she keeps some aspect of genuine authenticity to her appearance as well as a person.
