My mom passed away three years ago so the holidays haven’t been the same for our family. I still miss her so much it sometimes takes my breath away. I’m glad others can still make happy memories, but it makes me sad knowing I’ll never speak to her or hug her again. 😢

I love this so much. We used to do enjoy DL once a year, sometimes during this season. My grandparents are gone now and EVERY time I go, I think about those memories. Thanks for sharing this, it brought a smile to my face🙂

Looks like Herb was working at the Gingerbread house! Stollen is a German bread sometimes called Christstollen or Weihnachtsstollen. These are not to be confused, as they so often are, with the American version of Fruit Cake. These are SOOOOOO much better, actually the best is from Dresden and is correctly called Dresdener Stollen. It's made with raisins, nuts, rum, cardamom and cinnamon, sometimes a bit of extra butter, some rum, and sometimes marzipan. Though you can get stollen without it. Sometimes it will have cherries or apples baked in. It will be topped with a powdered sugar usually. It's very heavy, usually weighing in at 2-4 lbs. for a loaf. If you have a World Market by you, they sell little wee loafs or if you go to Aldi, they'll have bite sized stollen with marzipan.

🎄🇩🇪STOLLEN is a traditional German Christmas fruit cake❤️ I was born in Germany and Grew up with homemade ones every year with Mom and Grandma (Oma)😘 The one at GF is not very good lol but Aldi sells them for the holidays as they are a German based store, and theirs are very good!!! Esp the Marzipan one👍👍👍

I’ve been going to WDW since 1971 when MK opened…SO many memories of my Mom who has been gone way too long😢Christmas was always the best with her around, hard to even get into it since💔 Walking into the Poly has honestly lost its charm for me, since they took the waterfall out🥴The Smell of walking thru those doors was Magic, thanks Disney for yet another disappointment👎
