This is a magical performance. Cristian hit every transition with super dope style and that dip was perfect!

Beautiful couple. I remember a time when I wished dancers in the salsa scene had more dance training and polish but today dancers are so trained and polished that they look too measured. It’s wonderful to see a couple that is polished and still can respond in the moment. Lovely❣️

It's true. I too love the look of 'professional' dancers...the form...the spins...the beautiful arm and hand movements of the women...but yeah, there is a point at which it becomes all about 'performing'....where you can see their brains are too 'on'...they are not enjoying themselves...and they are putting so much stress upon themselves. I always found the salsa socials and the environments (esp the Jimmy Anton dances) to be a fascinating study in sub-cultures. I mean, you could cut the tension at the Jimmy Anton dances with a knife, particularly if you were there because you wanted to be CONSIDERED one of the better dancers. Then it was ALL about connecting with the right other dancers there...the right clique....and being 'accepted' by them, as 'good enough' to dance with the best of the best. Me, while I was a pretty good amateur dancer, I never had the 'balls' or the confidence to go over to the corner where all the pros were...the private instructors etc. But still, it was loads of fun...the different crowds there...some didn't give a shit....others REALLY gave a shit...some of the guys/leads were horrid...some overly macho and would try to 'correct' you (female dancer) if they thought you did something 'wrong' (Um, aren't you supposed to be the LEAD?? So if you think I'm doing something wrong, that must mean you are a BAD LEAD!' lol) ...and the way some folks (esp women) who blatantly stare down other female dancers...study their every move, etc. Then there are the patently obvious Frankie Martinez crowd...where the guys all wore the white lace-up dance shoes. ;-) Oh, and you gotta love the guys with their towel hanging from the back pocket. What a SCENE!

He's multi-time world champion

@@dannykalman I realize this but I have seen top dancers award-winning and all still not flexible on a social dance floor. Some champions are performers but don't conform to social dance settings. It's wonderful when they do though as in this case. Oliver Pineda is another world champion who is also a fantastic social dancer as well.

I'm sorry. Can you read Spanish? Should I write it over in English?
