I was blessed to be best friend's with Christian's house mate whilst he was living in Brighton taking his electronic music degree at Sussex University. He is a very humble & lovely person, who is obviously very talented.... great to see & hear he has chased his dreams & stayed true to his own path rather than chasing fame & fortune.... Some great memories of Christian DJing in the house & on the beaches at Brighton after the nightclubs finished.... watching the sunrise with Christian's music playing.... happy happy days

Really really great producer with a great sophistication in his art... was always banging the clubs from '93 - now but never bowed down to trends nor went commercial!!

I somehow ended up getting my hands on his old korg electribe esx-1 with some of his old patterns still on it. It was inspiring to dissect the parts

Colour me surprised at his statement at 0:50. I am not trying to stirr up some argument, but from the books I read (Bill Brewster's Last night the DJ saved my life, Dan Sicko's Techno Rebels, Laurent Garnier's Electro shock et al.), uncounted documentaries on that matter and my own vinyl, I believed it is a fairly uncontested point of view that 'Techno' originated in Detroit. Germany has sometimes called dibs on being the breeding ground of Techno, citing Berlin and Cologne and Kraftwerk, but the sound of the Belleville Three is fairly obvious the reference point to what we call 'Techno' today. With Neil Rushton's curated compilation "Techno · The New Dance Sound Of Detroit" being the most obvious early release mentioning 'Techno'. Any opinions on that topic?

Maybe he's talking about early techno bouncing between Detroit/US and UK/Europe where things got twisted everytime it crossed the Atlantic?
