@@jamesgrover2646 dribble is not everything mate. Messi can do dribble very well because it's his best skill. But ppl rarely see him scoring with long-shoot like Ronaldo. Ronaldo can do more efficient. He can do dribbling (not as best as Messi in dribbling), but Ronaldo usually use his speed, pace and accuracy to score goals. He doesnt need so much dribbling to score. It's their difference

Because he never showed amazing stats as an U21 player and people only care about stats. In terms of pure ability he was sick but people expected him to score and assist every game as a wide playing midfielder at ManUtd. Rooney or Messi were allowed to play much more forward than Ronaldo back in the days and that's why they have better stats as youngsters. They compare a pure striker Mbappe who plays in Ligue 1 in a much more dominant team than Ronaldo back in the days (remember ManUtd struggled hard between 2003-2006) and say "Oh look Mbappe is more talented than young Cristiano" which is totally stupid. They don't know shit about football.
