Wow how understanding of you😂 After breaking his oath he nearly killed himself. He's a very tragic character considering he's from a very minor house and had to work extremely hard to get where he got. Alot of people think he's mad that rhaenrya rejected him like shes some incredibly attractive and likable person. He angry that he soiled his white cloak that there wasn't any clear way to regain his honor. He's very similar to jaimie in that regard.

His King's Guard Oath was everything to him, he broke it once and the shame nearly destroyed him. He never could have been Rhaenyra's side piece. And he could never forgive her for (in his perspective) pressuring/coercing him into breaking his oath. Never mind the fact that if anyone found out he had broken his oath he would of been tortured, had his dick and balls sliced off then been executed.

I'm still not convinced Fabian can be the formidable Ser Criston as he is in the books. He lacks the intensity. His romance was good. He's got that fantasy knight looks... But.... But I just cannot picture him commanding an army to battle. Even his announcement of Aegon's coronation wasn't that good.
