@martechi42368 ай бұрын
I'm glad that came accross! I like to imagine every faction's FTL has some up and down-sides. For the bugs, it's pretty messy, but they are super accurate when it comes to seeking out high E-170 concentrations, like a sense they evolved to seek out other bugs, which now incidentally helps them hunting down ships using that fuel as well. But as a downside, they might not have any way at all to calculate jumps without a big juicy E-170 target to aim for.

It'd be amazing to incorporate this kind of thing into the game as a playable factor. For instance this could involve missions in your ship (space hulk style) to fight off Terminid boarders, eventually culminating in a pitched battle on the hull to shake off the Terminid ship before destroying it with the main guns. The downside being that a 'hugged' ship couldn't provide stratagems until the parasite is removed.

@adreiiaii5108 ай бұрын
This honestly suggests something I think would be absolutely awesome as a random event. An XCOM style ship invasion? Yes please. You extract from a mission, just as an automaton or bug swarm somehow assaults the orbiting destroyers. All helldivers recalled to defend their vessels, SOS goes out. You have access to all weapons and strategems you have unlocked and just have to survive wave after wave of the incursion. You get a limited amount of "lives" (the other frozen helldivers on your ship). If your destroyer is lost, you just get booted from the zone. If too many Helldivers/destroyers are lost, it counts as a campaign loss. If the Helldivers win, possible auto-lib of the planet or global debuff (lower spawn rates or lesser high-tier enemy types, loss of some tech, etc.) for the enemy faction for missions on that planet. Maybe even reveal some kind of Super-Earth Capital ship that warps in to fight/co-op area for Helldivers to fight in.

When I think 'bug ships', I usually think something like a water scorpion in space, with big grabby claws to grab, crush, or tear open ships; or some giant, solar-sailing mosquito-looking thing that injects acid and/or smaller bugs into the hull of a ship after lancing into it (though that might be the small ones there). Yeah, this is cool and makes me hope for a soace battle update. Picture this: in a future update they add space battles, you pkay them similarly to world of warships in terms of gameplay, these are done before an enemy incursion or before OUR incursion in enemy territory, for the former it influences how many enemies will invade a planet and how easy it will be to liberate, the latter will give us small bonuses for a short while in following operations. Each ship will have different stats and usages, the biggest ones focusing on taking on enemy capital ships and the lighter ones used to detsroy enemy troop carriers to, in fact, lower the amount of enemies during their invasions, or reinforcements during OUR invasions (with subsequent further missions during campaigns being available), of course you wont be able to completely annihilate them, because every so often one of your ships may get boarded if your anti-fighter defenses fail, and all players will be forced to push back the invading force from the ship, so SOME units will always pass. Heres the real kicker tho, instead of clans or leagues or wathever, players will organize in "fleets" and fleets will be able to send emergency messages troygh the game, so it wont be high command, the ministry of defense to do it first, it will only relay the fleet message, telling which fleets are already present and which ones are calling for help. The potential for dynamicity and immersion in this game is IMMENSE.
