I'm all for less use of force in 90% of cases but when you have a mentally disturbed nutcase firing a gun randomly and multiple people are calling 911 because they fear the outcome of what could happen then the cops don't have much options. You think " they just need more training" or " can't they just talk him down" but that just shows you have never been in a conflict with a person shooting a firearm. You can't risk hoping they will just give up. All it takes is 1 second for that person to fire off 3 rounds into you and you're dead. It's not the cops job to absorb bullets for social justice and to appease people who will never be in that situation while commenting from the comfort of their couches. Its like being the guy who's on his 7th beer watching a ufc fight shouting about how he woulda dodged that punch and knocked the guy out......yea sure you would have...against guy who trains 7 days a week while you pound beers after work. You can't be an armchair critic and expect anyone to take your views seriously.

U know, in a normal country mentally disturbed nutcases wouldn't be armed with instant kill-triggers...

again I understand that the police shoot, they have no choice but why shoot 30 bullets? That would give those suicidal people a chance

I have one. It's a rechargeable flashlight that was giving to me. It's small but very bright. I think it came from either lowes or home depot.

That seems suicide by cop and these cops did not disappoint. The last cop fired at the suspect 6 - 7 times and if you add all of the shots together, he was probably shot around 20 times or more. When he ran towards the cops, the gun was pointed down and to the left.

This is so very heartbreaking. He kept pleading with the officers to kill him ("matame, matame!"). Who knows what the antecedents were. He wanted to die and this was his best option--in his mind--suicide by cop. 😭

I don't agree with the level of force. This guy was obviously mentally disturbed and was in distress. His whole body language tells me he was trying to get their attention and wanted suicide by cop. It didn't appear to me that the gun was pointed at any of them. It appeared to me to be excessive force. I can understand that in that position your adrenaline is pumping and everything happens very quickly and this is why we need tons of training. Especially simulations that includes situations like this one. Don't get me wrong, I back the blue but not necessarily in this situation. I just don't see any winners in this situation and let's pray for this guys family and for the officers involved.

So a guy is running toward them with a gun that he has already fired multiple times in the air, he was not capable of having a conversation to deescalate, and you think they shouldn't have shot him? It doesn't matter which way his gun was pointing. He was running toward them with it in his hand. It takes a split second to raise it and shoot. Unbelievable that you think they had any other option. They should not be at all blamed for this outcome. There were probably many people in this mans life who had attempted to help him and were unsuccessful. It's not fair to put this on the officers in any way, shape, or form.

Stick with your job at Petsmart… you clearly know nothing about use of force, case law, and police tactics.
