Is there some benefit to not holding Ellen's dash attack?

I don't think so, but i could be wrong because I'm only a casual player. Probably because the situation didn't let her to hold or just faster animation to avoid getting damaged

holding dash attack on ellen could give 3 ice shard on ellen after her hold attack hits an enemy when sprinting which can make ellen do ice attacks
