And Akish did administer unto them the oaths which were given by them of old who also sought power, which had been handed down even from Cain, who was a murderer from the beginning. 16 And they were kept up by the power of the devil to administer these oaths unto the people, to keep them in darkness, to help such as sought power to gain power, and to murder, and to plunder, and to lie, and to commit all manner of wickedness and whoredoms. 17 And it was the daughter of Jared who put it into his heart to search up these things of old; and Jared put it into the heart of Akish; wherefore, Akish administered it unto his kindred and friends, leading them away by fair promises to do whatsoever thing he desired. 18 And it came to pass that they formed a secret combination, even as they of old; which combination is most abominable and wicked above all, in the sight of God; 19 For the Lord worketh not in secret combinations, neither doth he will that man should shed blood, but in all things hath forbidden it, from the beginning of man. 20 And now I, Moroni, do not write the manner of their oaths and combinations, for it hath been made known unto me that they are had among all people, and they are had among the Lamanites. 21 And they have caused the destruction of this people of whom I am now speaking, and also the destruction of the people of Nephi. 22 And whatsoever nation shall uphold such secret combinations, to get power and gain, until they shall spread over the nation, behold, they shall be destroyed; for the Lord will not suffer that the blood of his saints, which shall be shed by them, shall always cry unto him from the ground for vengeance upon them and yet he avenge them not. 23 Wherefore, O ye Gentiles, it is wisdom in God that these things should be shown unto you, that thereby ye may repent of your sins, and suffer not that these murderous combinations shall get above you, which are built up to get power and gain-and the work, yea, even the work of destruction come upon you, yea, even the sword of the justice of the Eternal God shall fall upon you, to your overthrow and destruction if ye shall suffer these things to be. 24 Wherefore, the Lord commandeth you, when ye shall see these things come among you that ye shall awake to a sense of your awful situation, because of this secret combination which shall be among you; or wo be unto it, because of the blood of them who have been slain; for they cry from the dust for vengeance upon it, and also upon those who built it up. 25 For it cometh to pass that whoso buildeth it up seeketh to overthrow the freedom of all lands, nations, and countries; and it bringeth to pass the destruction of all people, for it is built up by the devil, who is the father of all lies; even that same liar who beguiled our first parents, yea, even that same liar who hath caused man to commit murder from the beginning; who hath hardened the hearts of men that they have murdered the prophets, and stoned them, and cast them out from the beginning. 26 Wherefore, I, Moroni, am commanded to write these things that evil may be done away, and that the time may come that Satan may have no power upon the hearts of the children of men, but that they may be persuaded to do good continually, that they may come unto the fountain of all righteousness and be saved. -Excerpt is from Ether 8 in "The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ". Every supposed "literature" lesson based on this story focuses solely on identifying "who is being oppressed and who are the oppressors in this chapter?" And the curriculum doesn't allow to teach on classic literature themes. So, in addition to being taught to see everything through the lens of oppressed and oppressor, the children are losing the opportunity to learn how to dissect a piece of literature and learn how to analyse it from all different angles, and to learn how to think deeply about the riches hidden in great writings. they are losing the preparation for more advanced classes they will have in the future. All they will know is how to identify who is oppressed and who is oppressing them.

You should never teach a child that they are a victim even if they are. Someone with a victim mentality will always believe failure is a result of external forces that they can do nothing about and therefore give up. Life is not fair, some people will be given more, have more, have it easier, etc. A victim views that as the system and views himself as unable to succeed because others have as if everyone that succeeds causes others to fail. Someone without a victim mentality looks as failure as their own fault and thus can change themselves and learn to succeed. They view others successes as a path to follow for their own success. Even if someone is truly a victim in sociaty, teaching them they are a victim does further harm to that person.

Teachers at a catholic elementary school in Ontario, Canada were told to fill out a "Cultural Humility Self-Reflection" survey. The survey, or "self-reflection tool," outlines how teachers should adopt specific ideas related to race and culture. Those include recognizing the "privilege" of "dominant cultures" and "systemic racism and white supremacy." They must also accept that gender is a spectrum. The tool has been compared to Maoist doctrine whereby you are continually ‘re-interrogating’ yourself and being ‘rectified’ so that you have the correct Maoist line. We’re so screwed.

@@blkhemi3925 There are other sources like America uncovered who provided more details. One of the problems is as mentioned people did learn about the events and situations that happened, so why is it a problem now? Basically some of the material the new curriculums are pushing aren't even historically accurate. The founders of these groups say history doesn't matter if it is accurate. Some people will point to say "teach about Abraham Lincoln" like we never taught that before, but ignore that they are pushing other ideas like America was built in 16xx something, which has no historical evidence and is misleading. By making it a race vs race issue that keeps any racism alive and making people think about race daily. Any of the other ways I had mentioned are more like "these people did bad things this is why/how" The modern way is "you did bad things (of course not you yourself but your people, so by association you are too)"

@wnc817 That sounds reasonable but has some "mind reading" arguments. First it doesn't mentioned that "Americans" have always been considered a multi racial group not only that, but ANYONE can become an American. China, Japan, nazi germany, russia they all have people who at least have pushed a single racial identity during some parts of their history and no one else could participate. It also implies that race is a fundamental force rather than religion or any other kind of beliefs.

Some students are graduating high school unprepared and inadequate in geography, civics , reading and history. This needs to be a primary concern . So now critical race is stressed on an agenda when these kids need a good basic education. The teachers job is to teach ..period . The parents of all races job is to provide a healthy, home where education, culture, books, knowledge, discipline, love and respect are valued . Parents be parents and teachers teach…The kids responsibility is to sit in the classroom, pay attention and learn something about our country and the world we live in . When kids don’t know how many stars are on our flag , we have a problem. Kids don’t know culture or countries . So now the schools are going to tell them all about the history of hate …

@happypantsfilmmaker1797 Жыл бұрын
yea i can't imagine why anyone would say that. Its not like racial slavery was an institution in america for several hundred years with an economy driven by rit and its founding was a colony that displaced and genocided indigenous people. No nation has a clean record and it is your responsibility to not just accept but talk about your past. If you can't even talk about the horrors of your ancestors how can you ever hope to talk about racism today.

@@happypantsfilmmaker1797talking about the sins of the past which by the way your ancestors have too does not lead to more understanding today if you focus purely on the things that were wrong and spread hatred which is what you do. @@RIbigDave Why do you think it is that black people to a far greater extent than white people are impovrished or even homeless. Why the avarage black american hold far less wealth than the average white american. Its because black people had ancestors who couldn't build wealth or even earn money. Its because of history that wealth is and remains so racially stratified.

@@RIbigDave I agree. Holding someone responsible for the actions of their ancestors is wrong. But thats not CRT. You are attacking a fiction in your own head. Which also isn't particularily intelligent.

I don't think CRT is true because many other minorities in the US have succeeded like Italians Jews Japanese Chinese, etc and all of these groups were pretty badly mistreated and subject to racism and discrimination and yet they have been able to be quite successful and prosperous. Edits: For much of its early history like up until 1900s the Americans really didn't like Catholics or southern Europeans like Italians and often considered them inferior to Migrants from Great Britain but they've been able to succeed in the American system which did not like them
