Critical Result Reporting is at the heart of patient treatment protocol
The critical test values are identified and displayed in the laboratory/microbiology/radiology
The register is made in the laboratory in a given format
Whenever the critical values are identified, it is immediately informed to the concerned consultant and clinical assistant of that ward
The details of test are documented in the register with date and time and name of the person who gives and receives the information.
Clinical assistant will again inform to the concerned consultant for the same
Clinical assistant will stamp the critical test value stamp in the progress notes and will fill the details of the critical result and the consultant should countersign this within 24 hrs
Consultant should verify and counter sign the treatment given and counselling is given to the patient's relatives
Follow the above Critical Result Reporting Policy strictly in order to have adherences to NABH Compliances and patient safety.
