in my opinion, phantom is good for clutching since y'know, he gain a buff when he just got placed so that's probably his main purpose. Vanguard on the other hand serves a different purpose, he can also take damage from bosses to save the day but he also have the ability to stay alive longer than phantom, along with the ability to regenerate (and also the fact that he can get armor from attacking lol) makes him the perfect meele unit for early-mid game.

this is pretty true, as lvl 5 phantom is mainly used as a last resort but vanguard is like a tank and helps by using aoe, basically like a phantom juggernaut. Phantoms are usually used as last resorts because they have ghost and x2 damage buff after they are placed. They also have less cooldown rather vanguard just stays there.

You can’t really compare two opposite things. One is based on survival, as the other hand is based on enemy elimination. Phantom can help in a last resort, trying to remove the last enemies as vanguard is a tank that will take hits and have a longer ability to stay alive to kill enemies. Phantom can’t really be compared as he is a different type of playstyle.

For vanguard to be good you have to place it ahead of the enemy and if its a strong enemy use the ability. You not only do 450 damage per smash, but you can get like 3000 shield which is great and it will save you.

I have used both towers on cycle 12 matchmaking vanguard is pretty much op on early and mid game bcz fully upgrade wasnt that too expensive and very cheap but lack of upgrades after that and phantom become quite useful mid game and late games when lvl3 and lvl4,5 is done and you got tons of money you can spam phantom pretty much after that I'd rather say vanguard is better bcz spamming phantom is quite boring every time it dies when vanguard is keep reviving itself during the wave

Both have different uses, and phantom is only ever good for microing/leaks, meanwhile vanguard focuses more on the close combat side that being to actuallly know or see vangaurd's true potential you need to place it infront, and I guess you can also use it as a micro, but overall phantom is better interms of back back defense or as somewhat of a support on towers when the main front defense leaks, meanwhile vanguard is more of a front defense tower or a sub dps tower capable of taking out the small weak hordes and bosses, and can even half the major boss health if used properly

If you want a tower that focuses on single instant dmg then phant is your best bet, but if you want something equally opposite an instant dmg, but will have an even better overall dmg in later waves then go for vanguard

Imo phantom is better as back-up and slow down for late-game bosses, and vanguard is better as a normal attacker that can clear crowds decently well and use the shield it gains from what it killed to tank what it couldnt kill, tho it drops hard at lategame

Welp Phantom:cheap(kinda), has hidden detection, explosion damage upon placing and 6s ghosting, 200% damage buff Vanguard: 800 dollah to place, no hidden detection, gets a smash ability at lv 1(charged smash at lv 5), can heal overtime after death, at lv 2 or 3 can survive for idk how many seconds but eh, gets shield everytime vanguard attack with smash Overall i think phantom better broddas

Tbh vanguard is better as he becomes broken from level 3 (time invincibility), can heal by himself, can earn very big shield sometimes even for 10k and has aoe. But phantom is kinda better to clear leaks and slow down enemies. Overall vanguard is better but not deserves to beat this extreme+ map

So COTP is classified as an Extreme map? Never knew that since beating it took only 2 tries for me with dreadeye and like 5 - 10 tries without me having dreadeye since i found out a couple days ago u actually do need all players to have dreadeye but mostly i sniper spammed while also doing dread

i would say phantom is better because of the 200% buff and can be used to speedrun modes the 200% buff makes phantom's dps from 70 dps to 210 dps and because of the placement explosion adds 300 damage to it which makes it 510 damage which makes it op but it has a 10 seconds cooldown. on the second hand vanguard has more health but less damage but the ability is op but it cant detect any hidden so it will struggle alot in insane mode i think it will only reach 16 or 17 waves because of the hidden spam but phantom i think can last up to 20 to 22 waves of insane depending if u already have the upgrade 4 which is op as hell so. thats my opinion ty

Interms of actually using in an actual game and not as just a test on the tower if they can survive how many waves on their own, vanguard will actually do you more good in the late waves, but either way if you want an instant dmg tower capable of handling leak enemies then go for phantom, but if you want something with weak starting dps but gets insanely good the longer ot stays alive on the map then go for vanguard
