I have done this before, mid combat, ended up rolling so many nat ones with the cantrip "chaotic bead" that now the practical joke from Men In Black (the first movie, the one that bounces) is now loose in the campaign... It doesn't deal damage, but randomly relocates someone d6x5 feet away from a location and knocks them prone... Almost always mid conversation as it is born of pure inconvenience lol
