There are some variations of this creature across Scandinavia, even in different regions. Some call her the "Huldra". Some of them have a fox tail, and so on. The hollow back version is more common in Sweden, and she supposedly looks like a beautiful woman from the front but a hollow tree from the back.

I think Bells Hells need reminding of what the spark notes of the conversation with the Arch Heart were. It was basically: 1) If Predathos is let out by Ludinus, the Gods will fight back, and when Gods fight, there tends to be a lot of collateral damage, e.g. 2/3 of Exandria being wiped out. 2) If Predathos is NOT let out, but they still kill Ludinus, there’s still an “extermination squad” that is about to invade Exandria, so another case of mass casualty. 3) If Bell Hells can control and harness the power of Predathos, they can prevent the Gods from fighting and chase them away, and presumably they will also have the power to stop the invasion force and it’s probably the only case where they can avoid mass casualty. No one seems to remember point 1 about trying to avoid the Gods intervening. Because of the Gods intervene that’s what the Arch Heart was warning about coming this close to another Calamity.

To the point of Abu coming in, I was fully captivated by that man. And they're so right about getting lost in his voice, he's so charming and eloquent that he could probably sell me my right foot without realising he took it. I'm just so glad for the intel that he asked all the right questions to Matt and provided some inspiration on the gods he never thought of before. This is the stuff I live for in narrative is collaborative building off each other and creating new dynamics or expanding thoughts for things. Because Matt is brilliant but he is only one man, he's brilliant because he listens to people and lets them have weight in the bones of the world - that's how dnd and stories should be, it has such life to it because of those collaborations. But yeah, the episode where Abu came in has stuck with me just by how he carried that whole persona of the Archheart. He's a wonderful performer and I'm so glad they did something like that.

Going off of the convo between Robby and Liam. My perspective is that Orym has the most incentive of everyone to save the gods. To the point where I could see him turning on his friends. He is absolutely a protector but controlling Predathos or freeing it not only spits in Keyleths face and all of Zephra but also Will. It would be him agreeing that the Ruby Vanguard were right and that Will's death was justified. It's at an awkward spot because Liam created Orym to be a more a background protector character but the story has almost pushed him into being the most important character which Liam is actively shying away from. To me Orym and Imogen are two sides of the coin in this entire debate.

A huge part of why I love this campaign and it’s conflict is the fact that Matt said “the gods are gods in name alone, there is still much that are Greater than them.” Which to me makes it a fun discourse and the players, characters, and the world at large to me is responding exactly how people would act if they found out their gods were just “magic alien dinosaurs that are being chased by supposedly even bigger sentient Chixculub.” Granted the populace doesn’t know exactly that, but still the idea of the gods being flawed mostly-immortals gets them close

I love that part of why Matts stories and nudging works so well is because he is able to manipulate his friends so well. Laura? Give her weird small pets, Ashley? Give her a weird dog, Marisha? Hot women for her. Sam? Unconventional people, that are hard to seduce but would make for a ridiculous story. Travis? Just any button will do, doesn't even need to be red, could be beige. Who cares? He won't. Liam? Anything that makes him sad. I love it, truely the best friendships 😂

40:40 so I agree with Matt here for sure. Recently in one of my dnd campaigns I’m in (weirdly enough, a Wildemount one) the party was all discussing what we planned to do with this wizard apprentice. Due to some stuff it was a huge debate, in character, of either turning her in or giving her an out and relocating her. And then there was the questions of why and who and to whom would we turn her in to. This is actually where the whole lot of us realized….we are all very VERY different alignments. Like, none of us make characters with the idea of “oh I’m going to make the character like this because it’s this type of alignment.” No not that. But we realized something major and that is that we are on the alignment scale, not between good and evil, but chaotic and lawful. So Cleric- Chaotic good Monk- Neutral good Fighter- Lawful Good Warlock- True Neutral Wizard- Chaotic Neutral Ranger- Lawful Neutral Can you see the divide? Lol. 😂 So, my character, the cleric, is trying to basically rehome the apprentice. The Ranger and Warlock want to turn her in. The Wizard wants to send her back to his family (Dynasty so you can see problem here if you know Wildemount situation). Monk and Fighter are conflicted but neither really wants to turn her in, and also the fighter doesn’t exactly want to let her off scot free either for her very very bad crimes. We are at a standstill as we realize all this. Now, keep in mind, this is in-character only. We all, as players, enjoy this conflict unfolding and are trying to figure out how we want to proceed with this. Since we are only just level 5, this is the first real “argument” the party has had over how to resolve a matter and we love that none of us can really agree. In the end, we leave the girl to cool her heels with a trusted ally of ours. Why? Because we suddenly remember she is a loose end to a plot made by a noble who just recently tried to put a hit on us (which we went and got revenge for because we are not exactly good people, for all that some of our alignments say we might be). So yeah, realizing that turning her in is basically a death sentence or just handing her back to our enemy, we decide to let it go until we resolve that issue with another ally of ours (yes, crime, lol). So, yeah, she cools her heels and we make ready for the party where this noble is a guest of our criminal ally (yes, a Myriad leader). Should be fun! Waiting to see how that ends!!! Party time start of next session!!!

After the moment at The Key when Orym found the Vanguard's locket with his family I thought Matt would have a lot more reality of war in this campaign. They hint at it with stuff like how the Loom was actually an awful thing to do. My purely hypothetical guess is that they might have decided to not push on that because of the wars happening IRL and the images we are already seeing on the daily.
