I think you're digging your own rabbit hole. Taliesin created Cad as a counter to Molly, both drawn from people he knew, and part of himself. On an inter-personal level Taliesin, Matt, and Marisha are thick as thieves, and Tal & Ashley have a bond forged in the completely alien world of child stardom. He's an odd duck, and creating a high Wis/low Int moral anchor was a *choice* 😆 and as a counter point to Percy too. I think they are all trying to overcome their most base gamer murder-hobo instincts, when they are around cad... And finding it jarring 😆

Yea, Fjord has been a mixed bag in this campaign. I can’t tell if it how Travis has played the warlock/paladin class, if it’s the limitations of the classes themselves, or a combination of both. One thing is for sure though, he messed up royally with summoning a red dragon and marine layer. Marine layer seems to only be good for covering escapes and 1:1 battles with no one else involved.

Well, they had to act fast to not alert the guards outside. Somehow they still got alerted... even though all the witnesses died and it just seemed like an earthquake outside. Caleb made the choice Matt forced upon him, and Matt is going to punish him for making that choice by having a plot armor big bad show up out of no where (again.) Tbh, they couldn't have pulled this mission off any cleaner. Guards behind wards and doors with more guards watching narrow halls and more wards and doors... That is some dedication. Question is, how do the guards get out when a shift ends? Does Trent have to let them out? Also, wasn't he supposed to be away on business? His response was way too fast for how little information actually could have gotten out in the 10 or so minutes of action.

Remember folks, distractions don't have to be huge beasts all the time. Sometimes, a simpler distractions is the way to go. As soon as Travis described the dragon, I immediate thought that he should have chosen it to look like figures running away from the tower instead.

@@samanthagoodwin1516 I don't think that would work. Summoning and image of Vess would probably get the same result. Ikithon almost certainly knew Vess is dead. I think that would have been just as obvious of a distraction. The only way to actually distract him is to create a minor inconvenience that would require his attention if it was real. As soon as you make something dramatic he knows its a distraction and immediately teleports to the vault. I think the best play would have been to make an image of a fake Caleb appear to be running off into the woods or teleporting away. As if the fake Caleb already had what he needed and was making a break for it. Creating almost anything tips your hand that it's a distraction and it's covering for someone still on the inside. I think the only illusion that has a chance of working is one that makes him think he's too late for it to even be worth the spell slot to teleport to the vault.

@@Rellyks Not a TPK. Fjord's team and Beau can skedaddle, but Caleb's group, they're either dead or captured. I'm hoping captured. Trent Icky-thong wants Caleb. He still views him as a student, if you recall, just one that had to be let loose to flourish. Which is going to lead us to an escape/break-out. Which is bad, because they're on a timer to get back to Hot Boi.
