Absolutely terrific episode! I don't know if I am on board with the Spar and Phineas-Couple though. Am I the only one who finds it kind of...problematic? Spar always seemed like more of a father figure for Phineas. Even if I am off on that one, he was his superior officer for years and years, the one deciding everything for him. Yes the trust is gone now, but that kind of dynamic must be hard to shake. For Spar to get romantic with Phineas now... that's such a power imbalance in the relationship. I hoped to the end that they wouldn`t take it there.
@TessLowe5 ай бұрын
It honestly seemed like it was going there from the beginning, but neither of them were quite able to acknowledge it. Spahr never tried to use his power to ‘get’ Phineas because he didn’t seem to know that’s why he’d been so protective of him until now, now that they’re equals. The artwork for that scene is brilliant of course - it just shouts “When you’re done beating yourself up, I am about to kiss you”.

A little late to the party, but I agree! I'd be more open to it if there was more time for the relationship to develop once the mentor/protégé element was removed. And I’m so proud to say that I HAVE BEEN SHIPPING PHINEAS AND JONAS SINCE EPISODE 3. Not once has their dynamic disappointed me. It was all there from the start, but just so deeply buried underneath the Trust system it got twisted, almost broken, and surely made unhealthy - but this scene. This scene was so good. They always sincerely cared for each other and now they’re free to live it. After their reunion in the last episode, I couldn’t ask for anything more perfect. Thank you. I have been feeling horribly in these past days, but it’s stories like this that make me feel a little more connected to humanity again.

I kind of sensed it was going that way by the art, but their dynamic up until now had always seemed parent-child. ugh. ...What do you mean you can't find anyone in Midst? They were all gathered having a big party and your agents saw them there. It couldn't have been more than a few hours before that they were confirmed to be there. @@yavorvlaskov5404 The age numbers came from the official tumblr page from a Q and A with the creators. Though, i misremembered, and Phineas is actually early to mid 20s. But at the beginning it didn't seem to me to have that dynamic, Spahr always seemed to be much older than Thatch (he pulled Phineas from the Delta district when he was a young man, and Pgineas was supposedly much younger than that?) It doesn't help that a lit of the times Jonas referred (along many others) Phineas as "kid" 😅 so it feels weird that a menot/apprentice situation turned to romance
