After watching this video I listened to the piece and found that I loved it (sounded great on earbuds) and I have added it to my listening arsenal for long drives and walks. So many of your choices end up on my rotation. This certainly saves me lots of time as you sort the wheat from the chaff for us. Thanks and yes I will surely keep on listening!

Nothing wrong with the CPO recording. To my ears it's a beautiful recording and very well engineered. Like you say Dave, folk need to get to know the music first. That is one big challenge in this symphony.

Stravinsky said that a composer should compose with an eraser. True of critics, as well. I really get irritated by reviewers who waste words showing off their knowledge of other music by making irrelevant comparisons or inserting literary allusions that add nothing useful.
