This is the first time in Critics Choice history where Best Picture win is the only win that a movie got 😂 Honestly, Anora for Best Picture and Jon M Chu for Best Director, I can't be angry at it. That stuff was so hilarious, I just love how chaotic this was. I can't stop laughing for hours after both were announced as the winner, not a single soul in me wanted to attack them 😂😂😂

What’s funny about the Jon M. Chu winning is Orlando Bloom said that every director that won at Critics Choice for the past seven years went onto win at the Oscars. Jon M. Chu wins but he’s not nominated at the Oscars. I guess that tradition is broken.

So happy for Jon M Chu! For us fans of Wicked for over 20 years, he had a massive undertaking with this movie as even the smallest misstep would have caused an outrage. He overcame that and ended up getting universal praise from a fanbase that is extremely picky. He is so deserving and no one can convince me otherwise.

Look man, I absolutely adore Zoe Saldana, don't get me wrong. But her winning these major awards for Emilia Perez just feels so icky to me. Like yeah, she was the best part of the movie but her winning a huge award for Emilia Perez? We already knew she was going to win this though since voting closed before the controversy started. SAG and BAFTA will tell us if it really affected her chances or not. GG and CC don't really matter much when it comes to the oscars. SAG and BAFTA are more important, although it won't matter as much this year bc everything got pushed back bc of the fires, so voting for the oscars will have already ended by the time SAG & BAFTA are on. So results won't affect the Oscar voting. But depending on who wins, it could be an indicator as to how the academy voted.

Wicked got the most nominations there and I can easily see it's path to victory through SAG. If it wins PGA there could be a much stronger path.

Since he's not nominated for the Oscar, the Academy might honor him with a possible best picture win. That would be crazy and it's not out of the realm of possibility considering what happened last night. I also believe SAG is a potential lock. Black panther only had ensemble and stunts while wicked has acting performances, stunts and ensemble. I always said that conclave, Anora and Wicked are the ones to watch out for here. It wouldn't surprise me if Jacques Audiard was removed from the Oscars following the EP controversy. Jon M Chu would be way more deserving anyway. This also positions him as a serious threat to win the Oscar for next year. I guarantee the sequel is going to be huge.

@@AntsTheaterCorner2698 Removing Auidard from the nomination would be a big step and something they won’t do in my opinion at this moment (unless I missed a news on this now). However, Green Book won without director nom so did Coda so awarding Wicked with Best Picture if SAG and other bodies follow. Though one thing I dont agree with you is the sequel performance, sequels never perform as well by Oscars biggest example is Dune Part 2 already now. (which is so much better than first one in my humble opinion)

YAY DEMI!!!!!! Anora for BP?? I just thought it was ok. Everybody in that movie annoyed me. That's a head scratcher. One day I'd like Timmy to win but he was just ok actually in ACU. He really had no big Oscar moments in it. He deserved it for CMBYN.

I love the surprise wins except for the acting categories which were as expected. Especially seeing Challengers - which was totally snubbed by the Academy - win two awards. It would have been awesome to see Villeneuve win but am definitely happy for Chu. Would love to see Torres and Grande win on Oscar night and Domingo pull an upset.

I think the best picture win is fool's gold. The critics liked anora more than anyone else. and this was a tepid night for that film. Mikey seems dead in the water in actress. and they now seem to be in trouble in screenplay.
