It’s called a huile locally because of its oily appearance and the murky (oily looking) water that it may be seen in. Huile is French for oil!

Stopped car for one to cross road (not sure if it was green or yellow). The road ran through a canefield area, and flooded under 4 inches of water after heavy downfall. I estimated the snake to be around 7 or 8 feet in length and made a loud slushing noise as it crossed the roadway, while my wife was shouting at me not to stop.

Excellent presentation ! The early name "huille" is French which meams "oil". Pythons may be longer, but anacondas are heavier yes. Marabella.
