CRK Large Sebenza 31 MagnaCut: UnBoxing experience, Sharpening, Discussion

This is a $530 Chris Reeve Knives Large Sebenza 31 in MagnaCut steel birthed 8/24/2023. It is the best CRK ever with possibly the best EDC steel on the market today. It sharpens beautifully and easily on CBN Tormek sharpening system to an absolute and utter laser edge. I grind to 24 degrees inclusive edge here for daily carry. I'm starting to over-accumulate CRK and probably need to pare it down some.

I think the reason you don't seem to get anywhere at first with your stones was the factory edges are convexed, so it takes a bit to actually flatten down to a standard edge bevel. That combined with a hard steel makes for a more time consuming first sharpen. That and going down to 12 DPS lol, bet that thing just eats now!

Interesting video. I like what you did with the tormek! I personally am too squeamish to profile a Sebenza so acutely. Also, the warning against flipping the knives open was from the Sebenza 21 days of the titanium lockface and the mild steel stop pin. Shouldn't hurt the 31.
