Great to meet another Pentax shooter on KZbin. I'm about to buy the K1 already owning the K3 and KP. Great camera's, very sturdy and reliable in the wet dutch weather. Still have to try astrophotography, although light pollution is an issue over here. So bring on part 2!!!

The K3 ii is a great used purchase, because it has a built in GPS too.

Is there a way to cause the camera to imprint the pitch angle and zenith angle on the photograph itself? Same for latitude and longitude?

Used K1 has attractive price point. Anyone considered conversion by removing IR filter, or replacing with Ha filter? Mission impossible?

My first DSLR was a Pentax K-r. I had extensively researched all available cameras in that price range and it came out as a clear winner on features and specs which in some cases rivalled that of cameras in a rather higher price bracket. I have since then got a K-30 and then a K-3 and never regretted it. One thing I particularly like is that they don't do the stupid practice of crippling the lower end models by removing features that actually cost nothing or next to nothing. The one thing which always seems to be a bit lagging in Pentax cameras and I wish they would work on more is autofocus - it always seems to lag a bit behind Canon and Nikon in terms of fast and accurate focusing. That is until the K-3 - I'm not sure if that is still the case today. Third party lens availability is something that also concerns me though not nearly enough to make me think about switching to another brand.

So let's get Pentax:s thinking straight here. You know enough that you find yourself in the dark and ready to shoot something. But you forgot to insert a memory card into 1 of the 2 slots! I bleed Pentax but WTF to some of the features!
