8cr is actually a big upgrade over the 5cr they were using for the other CRKT minimalist knives. That's a big reason I dont generally care for the brand, but the design is amazing (all the Folts neck designs are imo) Biwa is great as well. Thanks for the vid

I dont like the retention, if i put it in, it doesn't click like i would expect, and if i grab by sheath and give it a wrist flick, the knife shoots out

I didn't realize they upgraded the steel. I really don't mind 8cr. I wasn't a fan of the 5cr that was just to soft. I'm not a big fan of crkt most of their stuff is overpriced. But this one I might try.

Just got 2 crkt neck knifes and I will be buying all of them 😅 I love them 8cr is ok , better than 5cr but I'll never really notice. the handle is amazing.

If you like the Bowie or the cleaver, check out bladehq for the cleaver in D2, and SMKW for the Bowie in d2 with tan micarta handles. That version is my favorite. Best 29 bucks I ever spent. I sleep with the thing. Ok only comes off for the shower
