Calling this song a "rip-off" of "West Indian Weed Woman" shows a lack of understanding of how calypso works. Calypso builds on its past. Clearly this song is a clever reworking of Weed Woman but it also introduces the new motif of travellers being imposed upon. It's this ability to reinterpret the past greats which gives calypso its depth.
