A lot of the fortress got destroyed in the homeland war during the 90s. It was a control point for allies giving them a good view of the surrounding area. Also before the new antena was built on the hill next to st Michael it used to be right there in the middle of the fortress and provided telecommunications for the Croats. Making it a big target for Serbian airplanes to bomb. That's just a little something I know from the top of my head right now. Loving the videos.

Thanks for that info bro, otherwise I wouldn't have known that. I thought that alot of the buildings looked more recent but I thought WW2. Interesting it was the 90s.

@@TattooedTraveler yeah no problem man. Well of course it served it's purpose in the ww2 given the fact it was built 200-300 hundred years ago but I just don't know a lot about that period. Looking forward for new content, hopefully it's something about Zadar 😋

My favorite little island. Too bad the fortress isn't in better shape .... WWII bombings destroyed a lot of good architecture in the area.

Yeah I heard the allies bombed it after the war was over in the area.
