I LOVE making these ponchos! Thank you for this wonderful pattern! I would love to have a chart that shows how many stitches to chain for different sizes as well as the length for each size. I do not have children I can utilize for checking different lengths. Would you be able to provide that information or tell me where I can find it?

Hi! Thank you. I don’t really have a chart as such for adults and we all come in different sizes. The only way to make them is measure the chain for the head for an adult using the multiples of the pattern. The length I guess just keep rows and puppo over your head to see where you want your poncho to finish whilst it’s on? There must be an actual chart somewhere on google images etc . Sorry can’t help further

As for children’s lengths I’ll see if I can find a chart , Otherwise same again google may have something for any poncho pattern for a specific age or even another tutorial maybe and use that Length ❤

Thank you! If you are using same hook and yarn, 64 chains for a child. If using other yarn and different hook make a chain multiple of 8 or thats closest to approximately 18 inches. Hope thats helps xx

I’m loving this but I don’t understand the reason to slip stitch across to the corner. When my gran taught me to crochet some 56 years ago she showed me to do half a corner then complete it at the end of the row. As in (I’m from England) 3 chain two treble complete the round to the last corner treble 3 into the same space as the 3 chain at the start of the row. Three chain up to the next round. Most patterns I see are done the way you do them but I find it easier to listen to my gran. It still looks the same. Thank you

Hi. There isn’t a specific number of rows for the other sizes. Reason being some like a poncho to the elbows some to the wrist. I suggest measure the little one and do as many rows as you need minus one row for the bobbles on the end. There are measurements available online. Someone requested here how much yarn needed for 6-12 months earlier. If they have made it maybe they can advise how many rows they did?

Yes chain 54 Multiples of 6 is the pattern not 8 as corrected in the comments. So yes 54 for for the 0-3 months

Hi, could I please clarify the multiples for this pattern. You say in the video that your starting chain is 54 and that it is multiples of 8 to make the poncho larger. 54 isn't divisible by 8, so I'm a little confused. Is the starting chain always 54, then add 8 each time for the next size up? Thanks

🙈 oh my goodness! Do apologise it’s a multiple of 6 not 8! I didn’t realise I was saying 8 . So 54 chains for 0-3 months. Adding 6 for the next size up is estimating really. I suggest you have a look at any size guides online for the size you want. Look for the circumference for the head size for example a hat or headband . Then make a chain for that length. BUT make sure it’s divisible by 6. I do apologise.

Hi there! The circumference for a 1 year baby should be approximately 18 inches. So depending on your yarn and hook make a chain about 18 inches BUT MAKE SURE ITS A MULTIPLE OF 6. Regarding how many rows I would just pop it over the little one’s head and see where you want the length as some like it to the elbows some like it longer. Hope that helps

Measure your child’s head and then make a chain using the count to get nearest to the length you need . Then you can proceed from there. X
