if i were to do this, i would do it on the solid double crochet rounds. decrease only a few stitches at a time, making sure you stay on count. there are two solid double crochet rounds in one set of the pattern so you could do a few on the first one, again making sure the count is still on for the next double crochet in every other st round, then decrease on the next solid double crochet rounds, making sure it is in count for the next patterned round. and continue doing this all the way down until you reach the length and width around that you would like ☺️ hopefully that made sense! ☮️💙🎶

No you do not have to increase at all if you do not want or have to, if you don’t need to you will continue working it the same way all the way until you are ready to connect it on the bottom 😊☮️💙🎶

Lucky you for working initially with 108 sts! You must be an extra extra small! I started with 262 but the yarn is pure cotton and hook size 3 and I want it to be comfortable. I have a problem at the beginning of the row I am not sure which st to crotchet in order to end up with the same sts of the previous row at the end of the row. So not showing us rows 2,3,4,5 made it difficult for me, otherwise all good. The beg is the problem.
