Thank you for sharing your pattern, they are soo cute! I did a burgundy cape with the white fuzzy hood lining. To close the cape I did a chain in Burgundy and a white fuzzy pompom on the end to match the hood and I love it!

I crochet and knit. Saturday my boyfriend rummaged through a yarn shop, found small amounts of yarn (probably leftovers) for 50-cents and begged me to make something for our bearded dragons. for the hood I found out that making a chain of 33 makes the hood way too big. I crocheted pretty tight and still. so and made another and this time I made a chain of 30 instead, and it looks and fit way better.

I like the hood bigger because it fits over the ears w/o squishing them. I did try the smaller hood and I didn't like the snug fit but that's just personal preference. Glad you found a way that's better for you :))

I asked you on your other post what size hook did you use? I ask because I've had quite a few mice with their capes posted on my FB and blog and nobody has mentioned the hood being too big.. I'm curious if you used a different sized hook or yarn weight than I did in the pattern that made your hood too big?

what size hook did you use?

I just updated the written pattern of the cape and hood. I think I know what happened! Maybe you didn't start with the 4st from the hook for the starting rows that use the dc? If so that would explain why it turned out so large. Let me know if that was the problem :)

no. The video you are commenting on is from 2013. I have a lot of things on the go, crochet is just one of them but I do crochet at least once during a week. I also run a miniature channel called, Where The Gnomes Live. Miniatures and crochet are the 2 crafts that I enjoy when I have the time

nice but the hood making a chain of 33 makes the hood very very big. same yearn same hook (i used 3.5) for all patern. i made it with 23 and was ok like yours. i cant understand how it works in yours... realy...

Electra Ma I work with Red Heart yarns and I know that some of their yarn colors work up a different size even when they are the same weight. I can't say why yours didn't work out but I'm glad you were able to get the right size regardless :)

Electra Ma the difference can also be your mouse. Maybe your mouse came out smaller than mine so you needed a smaller cape?
