I love it when it’s mostly chit chat. Please do it more often. You’re under the sea blanket is great! I’m really thinking about doing one. I used to live in San Antonio, so I understand your weather comment. I’m in Pittsburgh PA now, so very cold and different from Texas.

Hi, Terry. I enjoyed your video. as someone who likes to design my own knit projects. I love hearing the creative thought process of other people as they design and think through their projects. I think we can inspire and learn from each other. I think your blanket sounds so cute and I like the way you are making it your own. That's the fun of knitting in crocheting. We can start with one thing and then make it special and make it our own so that everyone's project is unique. It sounds cute and special and I do think you should give it to your grandbaby. Keep it in the family. I was knitting while listening to your video. I'm still working on my Vine. Lace blanket. It is full Queen size. It covers my Queen size mattress from one side to the other. It is huge. I'm on my 14th skein of yarn. I think I'm almost finished though I think I'm going to have 15. So on the next one I have to be thinking and counting and working on my garter stitch border. I think I've been working on it for probably about 3 weeks hoping to be done in another week or maybe even a few days .

I just remembered that there is a submarine and with all the animals. So you could have done a lighthouse or something else to go along with it. But I like your idea of adding the panels.

Hello Terri I also did the be under the sea cal with Sarah and what I ended up doing was to add more rounds to the squares to make it 12”. I’m also a tight lefty stitcher and I have found that something I have to improvise. I did all the squares at once because my tension seems to very greatly depending on the time of day…night…season…whatever lol. I do love your idea of the strips in between the rows though. I’ll be waiting to see how it turned out. Right now I’m working on thread bookmarks. I just dropped off about 50 to one of our local libraries so it’s time to work on more for another library in the county. Have a blessed weekend.

I agree with the blanket going to your grandson , he would love it and I'm sure it would become a family heirloom to be passed down . I like the yarn for the strips and I think it would look good as a small border as well . I would do the strips and then invisible join them if it was me , just because i would find that to be the easiest way for me . Hope yours turns out the way you want it to....Good Luck .

If your idea for joining your panel's doesn't work out, you could put a row of sc around the panel the use the invisible join to your squares.

The colors don't seem to go together, why not make blue plain squares and add them. Those colors just don't look right.
