I make mine different, but they look and work the same way. I chain 16 and put 5 dbl crochet in each chain. wrap it around my finger, and tack the two curls together in the center. Pull the end up through the middle, twist, and join the ends. Done.

Many many thanks for this. I tried to follow a written pattern, but my mobius didn't pull tru. I want to make these for a chemo clinic--I make hats for them, and I thought fidgets would be a nice extra item. You are soooo smooth and easy to follow. Thanks again so much.

I am a relative beginner, but am i the only one who had a lot of trouble finding the bottom of the stitches? You made it look so easy, but I could not see what to put my hook into. I really like your mobius. I will have to try again some other day when I get better at crochet.
@hookedforlifewithMBT10 ай бұрын
Take a look at this video that is just on the mobius part - maybe it will help? kzbin.info/www/bejne/oInbqaVubbSFbKssi=LNekQMKss6fZfiLX

I've done two now and neither one will keep pulling out from the middle 😔 I must've missed a step
@hookedforlifewithMBT Жыл бұрын
Your twist is not set up properly, probably. You really need to be picky when you set up the full round about starting in the bottom of the first row, and jumping to the top.
@manicur911 Жыл бұрын
You may have missed part of the step when you slip stitch into the chain 3 before your first DC.
@Melfan2012 Жыл бұрын
When you had to connect it you maybe put it true the wrong hole that is also the mistake I made
@nancy9478 Жыл бұрын
After I made the first row, I joined the ends making sure I twisted it. I took the tail from the chain and used that to secure that side and slip stiched the other side. Chain 1 for sc, 2 for dc and start making your stiches, worked well for me. Remember to chain after you slip stich so you know where to end your rounds. Otherwise you are in continuous round mode and that is not good for these, it "never ends" yikes

At the end I’m only ending up doing 35 slip stitches. Is that right? So it’s like half are getting slip stitched.
@suniedaze8438 Жыл бұрын
Ignore that. I just made another one and changed the color for the slip stitch.I can clearly see that I’m making 70 .changing color sometimes makes all the difference.

Finally got this to work, however I have gaps at both start and finish projects. I hate sewing.. What am I doing wrong here??
@hookedforlifewithMBT Жыл бұрын
I often get a gap at the beginning - at the original twist. I know you don’t love sewing but I just close it up with 1 stitch when I am weaving int he first end. I have never gotten a gap at the end - are you not joining the sl st round in the first st maybe? Hard to say…
@janmchaney7912 Жыл бұрын
Yes joining with so st and chain three
@janmchaney7912 Жыл бұрын
Also..I’ve done my chain very loose..Now when I turn the work upside down..those stitches are very tight. I’m using super saver yarn and a 5 mm hook. I’ve tried a bigger hook and still no luck. I’m starting to get frustrated.
@rianelhada Жыл бұрын
You can try joining the initial chain untwisted, then when working on the sc portion (in the round), you can join at the bottom of st instead of the top where one would normally join. After you can continue per usual as the pattern says. Creates the same effect. Tip: adding a few dc wherever you see a gap can help as well ☺️

I can't tell the last ch 3 to push through the middle. Perhaps a stitch marker?
@suniedaze8438 Жыл бұрын
I started doing that. When I make the chain three, I put a stitch marker in the top loop of the chain.

How can I add pony beads to this fidget?
@hookedforlifewithMBT Жыл бұрын
Maybe a few? If you put them on the outer edge you would need to make sure the opening is large enough for them to easily pull through. Maybe add a few stitches to the first row
@saundalassen-dw9cs Жыл бұрын
i think the first step is a little mis-leading cause you say you’re going to work into each chain two times but then end w/7 sc, if you’re working into it two times wouldn’t you end with 14sc? i may be misunderstanding but that’s how i’m taking it, esp as someone who’s never made this before

Me, too. I am going to try again by watching every single step! I have used other tutorials for this and can’t make them work either. I have probably been thru about 5-6 other tutorials already. All I keep getting is a big circle even after twisting!
@kathynavarro-sochel755 Жыл бұрын
Follow-up, I did it again following each step and it STILL didn’t work. It is twisty like a mobius but won’t budge. 😮 I notice she says things like, “Put the stitch here” but then falls out of the camera and I can’t see where she is actually stitching into. I know this is easy for her, but as a re-beginner, I can’t seem to make it work. Frustrating, I know. 😢

I do appreciate the free tutorial, it just really sucks when the most crucial part of the whole thing is barely glazed over. Made this several times and it does not pull forever. It flips over itself and then looks like a scrunchie. I wasted so much time on this 😢

If you mean pull it apart - you aren’t supposed to, that is what makes it a fidget toy :-) If you are having tangling issues while stitch I would say put the video on half speed and stitch along with me. It is a little fiddly.
