When making it bigger how to calculate how many stitches to leave unjoined when putting the circles together? Is it a percentage of stitches

You can leave the same number of stitches unjoined as shown for this bag. That gap is big enough to push the entire bag inside. But if you are planning to make a more than 3 rounds then leave a total of 18 stitches unjoined. But when making the body of the bag, don't add too many mesh rounds. It does stretch as you keep adding more mesh rounds.
