Great tutorial....thank you for sharing. ***For those of you who are Rt handed...find Bagoday, hooked by Robin, or creative grandma on KZbin -- all 3 channels have great beginner instructions as well as patterns to learn how to crochet. Bagoday and hooked by Robin use the 'knife' hold; creative grandma uses the 'pencil' hold. These are the correct ways to hold your hook, and they also show the correct way to hold your yarn. Tamara Kelly from Moogly does. Rt and Lt. handed tutorials. All of these ladies have a blog, though I'm unsure if Bagoday has a blog. If you're new to crochet it might be a little difficult to follow this lovely young lady...she does beautiful work but how she holds her hook and yarn is a bit unconventional. She's using one hand to work her hook and yarn, which I'm sure she most likely taught herself to crochet. The conventional way is to hold your hook in one hand and yarn in the other. Though I'm amazed at how fast she can move with having to do an extra step of putting the yarn over her hook as opposed to grabbing the yarn w the hook. (I'm not criticizing this lovely young lady. Plz don't take it that way. I just remember starting out, trying to teach myself how to crochet. When I found the women I listed above on YT it was a game changer. Things I didn't understand trying to read finally made more sense when demonstrated. I also recommend the above women bc they do well with the camera work...like this young lady, you can see what they are doing with the angle used here.)

The solution i ve found is to start with a hook size up with foundation chain.if the pattern calls for 3.5mm hook ,start with 4.00/4.5 mm crochet hook for foundation chain then change back to 3.5mm after chain

Thanks for the heads up, I put the chain around my thighs and my yarn had no give (I’m using cotton). I switched to a chainless double crochet and problem solved! Now it’s stretchy. @crocheting3 жыл бұрын
Yes I’ve got a few tricks for that! One way is to not count the initial “chain 2” as a stitch, so you would essentially dc into that starting ch-2 space to end the round and slip stitch into the stitch next to the chain-2. Another option is to start the rounds at different spots on the previous round, instead of always starting at the same space. This helps to “spread out” the changes from round to round so it’s not overwhelming in one side. Hope this helps!

hm I would suggest checking your gauge to see, depending on that, you might need to make a size smaller than you normally would in order to get the best fit!

heyyy just wondering if i can still make this dress with only two colours of yarn xx
@crocheting3 жыл бұрын
Totally! Just make the stripes three rounds thick instead of two, or just alternate as you normally would between the two colors :)

hey i have a question! i am making this dress however i start from the top of the dress and move down, the cups are done and i’m starting the body, but how do you keep it from growing outward? it’s supposed to be bodycon so idk how it’s getting bigger...
@crocheting3 жыл бұрын
You’re right that it is a bodycon, but it still gets bigger towards the bottom to give room for the hips/wider part of the legs since the yarn I used isn’t really stretchy! If you’re using a stretchy yarn you could probably get away with doing less increases but most yarns aren’t stretchy enough for that :) hope that helps!

How long does it usually take?
@crocheting3 жыл бұрын
This took me about 10-12 hours to make, but it really depends on how fast you work and also what size you’re making!

How do you sew the cups onto the dress?
@crocheting3 жыл бұрын
you can use a tapestry needle to weave a long strand of yarn (attached to the cup) in and out of the last round of the dress body to attach :)

hi! love the video, just subscribed. I only have a 6mm hook. I want to make the XS size, what should I do? is it worth it to go buy a 3.75mm hook
@crocheting3 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! I’d definitely say it’s worth it, almost all of my crochet clothes are made with a 3.25-375mm hook

I’m not an expert but I’m assuming your gauge may be off a little bit. I would recommend making a gauge square to make sure it’s correct. Around the beginning of the video she said what it was :)
@crocheting3 жыл бұрын
@@theamorgan9749 exactly, a gauge square should be able to tell you more about your stitch size! If you find that your square is a lot smaller than it should be, I would suggest going up a size or two in order to get the measurements you’re looking for :)
