I made this hat. I used Lion Brand Hometown. It worked up great. I then made it using regular #4 weight yarn with one strand and a 6mm hook. Again, it came out great and fast. Thanks for an easy pattern that can be adjusted with the same great results. I also used three different colors on the last hat.

Thank you for letting me know. I had a viewer ask about the number of strands to use. I created it with 3 strands of 4 weight yarn and with the knitcrate yarn and while the hat was a little stiffer (with the 4 ply yarn) it still turned out great. 💚

@@AhselAnneCrochet I will do. I think sometimes, people make things more complicated than they need to. A friend I work with wants to start crocheting (she better do as I brought her some hooks for her birthday and gave her some wool lol). I will tell her to follow you. There aren’t many I like to follow on KZbin as I find their voice annoying but yours is nice and soothing 😊

I made my with chenille yarn , double strand a size 6 crochet hook , I needed mine to be tight , bcoz it’s going to my cousin that has 2 types of cancer . She’ll be going for chemo in about a month lives in Kentucky or Tennessee , can get pretty cold there. It worked out beautifully, as I got to end in last 2 extra rows I made increase of 2 extra double crochet for it to stretch over her ears ! I wanted to make outta pink colors but her favorite is blue , so I got a skein of blue with grey chenille yarn ! I thinking about making a strap so she can remove & wear like a hat or gathered as turban!

Thank you for sharing this and for making it a tutorial . My sister has cancer and she has a beautiful wig but it's just to hot here in the south for a wig right now. I'm hoping that it will be okay if I use a 5 bulky warn . Thank you so much .🌹

Hey girl! I really love the pattern but I think I'm doing something wrong? With every round a new stitch is added? I think it's because I add a dc in the third stitch in the beginning? Is this supposed to happen? I'm new to crochet so I'm sorry if I don't understand but I'm really confused! Please help 🙏🙏
@AhselAnneCrochet4 жыл бұрын
Hello, If you are doing the tutorial as is, you should have 8 double crochet to start, then increase to 16 (2 dc stitches in each stitch around), then increase to 24 (2dc then1, 2d then 1 ...repeat around) and then increase to 36. What round are you working? After you get past round 4 you will not be increasing any more. You should have 36 double crochet stitches. 💚
@stacyfletcher77675 жыл бұрын
I love this hat style, but will a regular bulky #5 wt yarn be equal to 3 # 4 strands? ( I thought 2 strands were the equivalent but I didn't know you could use 3 and still get a #5?) What do you mean in the 3rd round "just work your way around if you don't want to increase"? Just do 1dc stitch in first stitch and all stitches all the way around? I really can't wait to make this especially for my daughter in-law!
@AhselAnneCrochet5 жыл бұрын
So this particular hat used Knitcrate yarn which was a blend of wool and another fiber Alpaca?? maybe, so it was a lighter weight. I used three strands to create this BUT I also created this same hat in a smaller version using 3 strands of 4 weight yarn, 2 strands being Vanna 's choice and one strand being Red Heart Metallic yarn and it worked out fine. It may depend on the type of yarn your choose. If you put two stands together and it seems to have a nice bulk then you can use just the two stands. I'll post a picture on my Instagram of the one I created using 3 strands of 4 weight yarn and I'll try to post tonight the written pattern on my blog so you can create a smaller version. (If not tonight check tomorrow...I've been under the weather...gotta love allergies 🙄 )...And yes to your second question but that would be for a small head.
