I use milk cotton yarn 5 ply (cotton 80% & acrylic 20%). This is the type of yarn that is commonly sold in my country, and is available in yarn shops. You can use the type of yarn you have.

I love Hello Kitty and your tutorial😊 Can I use thinner yarn? I have Drops Safran cotton yarn 4 ply 160m in 50g. I try do make my first ever project and font now really to much about yarn. I do needle felting only but want to try crochet 😊

Thank you ❤️❤️❤️. You can use whatever yarn you have. Don't worry about different yarns. When you use different yarn sizes, the finished product will be different, that's all. You just need to choose the right hook size for the yarn you have. If you have never crocheted before, I recommend learning the basic crochet stitches before crocheting the finished product.

Those 6 extra single crochet stitches can be omitted and will not affect the pattern. But without those 6 extra sc stitches, when viewed from behind the heart will not be balanced, one side will be higher than the other. Those 6 extra sc stitches help to adjust the balance of the finished product
