If you're a beginner (like I am) definitely set aside a few days to a week for practising the different stitches. Practise 10 - 20 minutes a day if you can. Learn the basic stitches first then work on learning the magic circle. This might take a day or more. Keep practising these skills even between projects. Remember to stay positive, patient, and confident. Learning new skills takes time! Thank you for the wonderful tutorials HappyBerry Crochet!

Great pattern, thanks! I'm assuming you can increase the size of the heart by increasing the size of the hook and the weight of the yarn?

Thank you so much for your wonderful tutorials! Just wondering with this one, what do you do with the tail ends after you have tied them together, do you thread it through the heart or just cut them off?

I would like to make one of these to hang on the fireplace mantel for valentines day. I was hoping to have bigger hearts though. If I use a thicker yarn and larger hook would this accomplish the task using the tutorial as shown? What size hook would you suggest for a 4 or 5 weight yarn? New to crochet and love your videos! Thanks.
@HappyBerryCrochet11 жыл бұрын
Yes, using a thicker yarn and a larger hook would make larger hearts! You could also try my large heart pattern here if you like: happyberrycrochet.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/crochet-love-heart-free-pattern.html For a 4 or 5 weight yarn I would try a 5.0mm hook for 4 and a 6.0mm hook for 5.

These are great but on the print version of the pattern on your blog , it doesn't say to chain four on round 1 before you start the 4 trebles are we supposed to chain four before round one if not using the magic circle method ?

+gege meme How beginner are you? I started practising about 2 weeks ago. I started learning one stitch per day for about 5 or 6 days. Then I started my first project learning how to make the granny square with the heart. It took me two days to figure out the magic circle. I actually had to watch two other videos by different people in order to figure it out. Once you figure out the circle and how to do all the required stitches (definitely learn the stitches first) then learning how to make this heart isn't too hard. Just take your time and pause the video a lot. Good luck! Stay positive, confident, and patient. :)

Don't lose heart (woops for the pun,) it took me a while to understand the SC, DC and the TR. You will get it and you.

Is there any way this can be done without the magic circle? I can’t for the life of me get the hang of it 😭😭
