I am in love with this box stitch. It reminds me so much of crocheting a granny square, because there is a lot of granny "clusters". Love it! Thank you so much. So beautiful.

I’ve spent the last few months crocheting for other people, hats & scarves for my Great nieces and my friends, along with a counterpane for my dear friends king-sized bed and a wrap by Sarah at Rich Textures for another friend. I’m thinking it’s my turn. I’ve recently given up on my duvet, I live alone, am disabled, I just couldn’t manage the duvet change. I feel so liberated! I need a second bedspread, I think this stitch might be just the ticket. It won’t be too heavy and I think it is so pretty! I’m thinking Special DK in white, with alternating rows of pomegranate and petrol, (I love those together.) I just hope it turns out as well as I think it might! Thank you, a great tutorial, as usual.

I chained 156 plus my 2. I used a solid color first and a multi color for my smaller row. I did 61 rows of solid. It made a beautiful lap blanket. Just finished and starting a new one. This is a simple but beautiful pattern and easy to understand thank you so much!!!!!!

I love your video. It's so clear and easy to see exactly where you're putting in the stitches, especially the bright pink. Often I've found tutorials in which they hold their finger up a little further and you can't see exactly where they're inserting the hook. You're my go-to instructor :D

Love this stitch. Thanks for sharing. To avoid so many loose ends, I think I'd just carry the contrast color up the side and then add a border edge that would hopefully hide the carried yarn.

Nice! I do my ends a little differently. The yarn goes into the same place, but instead of using a darning needle, I just use a small hook, insert it into the same place as the narrator placed the darning needle, and just gently fish the end through just like she does with the darning needle. This might be easier for those who have trouble threading the needle. Hope that helps! .

There is a another option for the first two rows of this stitch pattern. It is making the first row of DC's in a count that is a Multiple of 3. Then for the second row, not to go in between the posts but only on the stitches of each DC, following this sequence, SC, * SC, CH2, SK 2, SC * SC

Is there anyway you can carry the pink instead of cutting it off constantly?
@carolheverin8814 Жыл бұрын
I love this pattern! Do you really have to cut the pink at the end of the row if you are just going to go back to the same spot after you finish a white row?
@bellacococrochet Жыл бұрын
Thank you, I’m glad you like it 😊 Yes, due to the way the stitch is worked - however if you really want to avoid the ends you could split the yarn that you’re using for the double crochet rows into two so you have one at each side to carry up as you go.

What border would you suggest? I am a noob at crocheting, well since last October. I can pretty much learn any stitch but borders completely elude me.
@bellacococrochet3 жыл бұрын
Borders can definitely be more tricky to master, but if you work a round of double crochets (UK terms) around the edge you then have a foundation for any edging that you want. A block edging would look good with this stitch as it continues the theme: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pH-ThJ1mfqd1arc 😊

I am finding my edges are a little tight (particularly on the dc/tr rows). Do you think it would be better to ch4 instead of ch3? Thank you 😊

We all crochet slightly differently and with different tension, so if you find that a chain four works better for you then you should go ahead and do that instead 😊
