Materials:
- Purple yarn
- Green yarn
- Skewer stick
- Glue
- Lavender essential oil (diluted)
- Scissors
- Darning needle
- In the video, I am using DK yarn from Premier Yarn and a 3.5mm hook and an 8 inch skewer. Use what you have, you do not have to use these specific sizes.
Pattern
1. Starting the Lavender
- Begin with purple yarn.
- Create a slip knot and chain 70.
2. Creating the Lavender Blooms
- Skip the first 3 chains.
- In the 4th chain from the hook, place 4 double crochets and a slip stitch (all in the same space).
- In the next chain and in each subsequent chain until the end, work the following sequence:
- Single crochet, chain 7, and slip stitch back into the single crochet (all in the same stitch).
Weave in ends.
3. Preparing the Skewer Stick
- Add a little glue to the skewer stick.
- Wrap the green yarn around the skewer stick, starting from the bottom.
- Place a bit of glue at the end of the stick to secure the bottom of the green yarn.
4. Attaching the Lavender to the Skewer Stick
- Apply a small amount of glue to the lavender where we had the 4 double crochets (or put glue on top of skewer stick)
- Place the middle of the 4 double crochets at the start of your lavender piece onto the top of the skewer stick.
- Wrap the lavender piece around the skewer stick, securing it with glue at the bottom or as needed.
5. Finishing Touches
- Spray the finished lavender with diluted lavender essential oil (optional)
Note: Be careful when working with glue and essential oils. Ensure proper ventilation and avoid contact with skin and eyes.
