amazing video in 2001 I had brain surgery and suffer with anxiety, depression and panic attacks. I was advised to try crochet to help and it does your videos make crochet so easy to follow I completed this and my wife and daughter were so happy for me (i'm just a beginner) made me feel a lot better in myself for finally being able to accomplish something:) thank you

@@bellacococrochet there is one thing I do struggle with and that's when it comes to making toys, decorations and doing the decrease stitching my stitches become tighter and a lot harder to get my hook through, is this normal ?
@bellacococrochet5 жыл бұрын
It's normal for the stitches to feel tighter as you decrease as you're cinching them together; you should still be able to get your hook through though. If you're having a lot of trouble you could always use a bigger hook just for the decreasing and this should help 🙂

Hello David - I was so happy to hear that crochet helps you after your brain surgery. I truly hope that you continue to make good progress both with your health and with your crochet creations. I personally find crochet very therapeutic - it calms my mind. It is a wonderful hobby.

I made these for my nieces and nephews last year, I filled them with sweets and a candy cane to finish them off. I was new to crocheting and they came out really well. I was so proud of my self and it enabled me to give 13 children a special gift with out breaking the bank. Thank you.

Happy Happy New Year to you Miss Bella! Just saying your mini xmas sock tutorial was absolutely easy to follow, I've just finished making my very first one and it turned out beautiful. I finished the edges with a single crochet stitch around and the cuff was with your 4 rows of single stitches. Thank you very much for uploading this video and you are a wonderful teacher, looking forward to another video......

Great as usual! Only change I made, instead of crocheting the edges together...I left long tails every time I tied-off the yarn. Then I used the tails to whip stitch the edges together. It’s a bit easier since some of the edges don’t have defined stitches to work with, plus it is a great way to get rid of your yarn tails.

Why do you chain 2 to turn? In SC the appropriate turn chain is only one, and it never counts as a stitch. The proper way to start is to chain 37, sc into the second chain, and every remaining chain and you will have 36 stitches Also it you are only going to crochet into one loop of your chain, it is best to use the loops on the back of the chain rather than the top loop. In subsequent rows you chain one, and ignore it, and work into the stitches, which are exactly that, stitches, not chain loops. BTW, NEVER leave a knot like that in your yarn! It will eventually come undone and your piece will start to unravel. To change color it is preferably to work to the last 2 loops of the previous color, and complete the stitch with the new color, then continue. As for joining yarn in the middle of a row, the proper way to do so is to make a slip knot on your hook, then slip stitch into the stitch, chain one, and do a SC into the same stitch, then complete your row. I hope this will make things clearer to others who find your video a bit confusing. I have crocheted for 47 years.
