I don't know how useful this will be after so long, but I also encountered the problem of 3-4 additional stitches after row 4. I noticed the problem in row 4 where she does a chain 4 (chain three is a double crochet, plus a chain one, which makes 4) and instead of skipping on to the first puff stitch space, she double crochets into the first chain space, which will effectively add stitches. What I ended up doing for row 4 is this: I had 31 stitches total (multiples of 6, plus 4, following Joanna's instructions). For row 4, I chained 4, ddc into the first puff stitch space (NOT the first chain space, as she does), chain 1, ddc into the space, chain 1, etc etc across the row. After the last puff stitch space, I chained one and ddc into the last chain space. That was all. I now maintained my chain number. You can even see in her sample that the flower stitches don't line up at all. I wish she has continued with her sample so we could see if it lined up or how she corrected the added stitches. I'm sure there are other ways to correct the issue, but this is what worked for me and the pattern still came out beautiful. I generally like the way Joanna teaches, but this pattern seemed a little wonky.

Yes you are right and it helped me as I encountered the same problem of having too many stitches in row 5. I left out the DC before the first puff and the DC after the last puff in row 4 and now I have 19 DCs again. Thanks!

This is so pretty, I wonder if I could use this pattern to make a top-down round yoke top. Maybe if I increase stitches during row ( or in that case rounds ) 1 and 4?
Can I crochet this pattern length wise to make a long scarf for both sides for a jacket

Good morning from Greece....thank you so much for the nice words Cathleen...i maked my flower pattern with Angora Gold Simli and hook size Nr.3....I dont talk about the yarn and the hooksize in my videos because i make only small examples and you can use of course any yarn you like..........
@cathleenking56777 жыл бұрын
Joanna, the reason I ask is because your patterns have such definition when you crochet them. I thought maybe by using the same yarn and needle size mine would look more like yours. The Angora Gold Simli is not even available here in the USA. After watching you work I have come to the conclusion that you are an artist and know everything about crochet. I hope that you keep putting your beautiful patterns on U-Tube. I love them!!!!

Great pattern, but when I did 30 +4=34,(multiple of 6+4)I ended up being 3 short on the repeats for the second triangle row. ? Anyone?
@cathidoherty25815 жыл бұрын
The last triangle should have 3 stitches after it. But I have 6 counting the chain stitch.

I wish I saw you "attention" regarding row 4 ... I kept going, even though it felt too wide. I rewatched your progress of row 4 at least 10 times, thinking I was crazy. I felt it was off because the next row of flowers didn't align. Frog it or fake it... hmm... 🤔😑🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
@loredana8244 жыл бұрын
I had 4 stiches more in the 4th row 👀 trying and trying and I had to frog everything 😕
@MeganERiskArt4 жыл бұрын
There's definitely something wrong with that 4th row. I also ended up with three extra stitches. I think there is a chain 4 in row 3 when it should be a chain 3, but I'm not sure what else went wrong.

It is a beautiful pattern, but you did not show it correctly. Row 4 and 5 do not make sense , At the end of row 5, you ended up with 4 more stitches, which messes up the next row
