The amount of yarn left over wasn't left in the pattern information by the designer. I don't know that answer. You will use more yardage but I don't know if that is meaning extra yarn balls or finish what you have. I'm sorry. I don't know.

Newbie here- thanks for video tutorial... If i don't want to change colors- will I chain 2 turned and half double in that 1st chain? Can you please clarify

You still need to ch 2 and half double crochet regardless of changing the colour or not.
