I can't thank you enough! I learned the retro daisy through a different tutorial (and I've already made 22 squares 😢) but the gap between the first and last DC of the centre of the daisy was driving me absolutely insane, which is why I started looking for a different pattern. This design has been around since the 1970’s maybe even before which is why it is called a “vintage” or “retro” granny square. The person you mentioned only did a video of it 1 month ago and if you watched it she even said she remembered seeing it as a kid in her mom’s kitchen in the 1970’s and also she says she is from Canada not sure where you pulled your info from
