Thank you for the tutorial. Add: Row 2: front post single crochet in every stitch. It is the front post stitches that create the ridge. You do it in the video, it is mentioned in the pattern.

Just saved your video the greatest of all love the musical 🎶 background and enjoy the “no talking style” which can be very annoying. May I suggest you write the instructions for the beginners on the screen who are not accustomed to reading and switching the stitches. I know the instructions are written in the description box , perhaps they would like to see it on the video itself. So that’s if you can but you don’t have to. Thank you for your kind feedback. Yes you can make baby blanket 36" x 36". Number of chains will depend on your tension and type of yarn used. The pattern is in multiples of 19 + 4. So try 171 chains + 4 (175).
