Hi please I have a question, at the sleeves part, while doing the 10 rows section after the increase, where we switch to a larger hook size, I noticed that the point from which we start a new row had moved away from being directly under the armpit to being at the side because of the increase, is that supposed to happen?

Yeah you can do it with any size, it’ll just be a different size after crocheting so make sure to hold it against yourself and make sure you’re doing it as big as you need to

The instructions are measurements based. So made a chain that is 17inches wide, just is my bust measurement divided by 2.

why switch to single crochet for increases?

i think that because the double crochet is taller you would end up with a thicker band of yarn around the sleeve right where you increased because the increase round has no space between the stitches. so single crochet is shortar and is not as distracting, that is how i see it at least
