I think I might try this with some lace string, make a bunch of small ones and then connect them together to make some sort of blanket or sweater

If you need it bigger, do you just keep adding one to the chain length, three to the space chains, and a loop on the hook?

maybe it's because you're making your stitches too tight, try making them a little looser
